Our Translation Team

Not only is our office equipped with the necessary tools, but our personnel are highly qualified professionals who know how to put these tools to work for you.  Our office is equipped with the latest technical dictionaries, glossaries, Internet connectivity, up-to-date software, CAT tools and excellent hardware. Our team and their credentials are summarized below.

Robert Johnson - our team leader is from New Mexico, USA.  He has an MA in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Arlington and taught language at the university level for 8 years both in the US and abroad. He speaks fluent Turkish, has 6 years of experience with the Turkish language and culture and has been coordinating translation projects for EDI for 3 the last years.  An avid reader and traveller, he specializes in legal documents and technical contracts but also enjoys literary translation and copy writing.  He plays the guitar and whiles away what little free time he has writing songs and poetry.

Bill Bergman – our technical specialist was born in North Dakota, USA and has an MS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has over 8 years of experience as a computer programmer and technician working primarily with Visual FoxPro, Visual Basic, MS Access, and web site preparation. A fluent speaker of Turkish, he has worked in Ankara for 4 years. Bill has traveled in western and eastern Europe, Africa and Central Asia. Bill is happily married with 3 children. He enjoys playing tennis, scuba diving, windsurfing, sailing, playing rhythm and bass guitar, and downhill skiing.

Burçin Tıkıroğlu – is from Denizli, Turkey and is currently a student at Middle East Technical University, one of the best English-medium schools in the country. Experienced in office and translation software, he is our resident native Turkish speaker.  He enjoys reading science-fiction and fantasy literature and is a certified scuba diver who does not know how to swim!  Too humble to give a complete list of his many talents, he does confess to playing the guitar.
